The CLC Children’s Bibles Project
Spreading the Word. Reaching the World.
The CLC Children’s Bibles Project continues to move forward with purpose and faith—bringing God’s Word to children who might otherwise never hold a Bible of their own.
What began in a small CLC bookshop in Chiang Mai, Thailand—where it became clear how few children’s Bibles were available in Thai—has grown into a global mission. Today, this work is focused on making Scripture accessible, affordable, and age-appropriate for young readers across the world.
A Growing Global Mission
The project is focused on countries where Christian resources are scarce and local printing options are limited. These include:
Benin, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, India, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mozambique, Myanmar, Pakistan, Portugal, and Thailand.
In each of these contexts, the goal is simple but profound: to place the Bible into the hands of children in a language and format they can truly understand.
A Bible for Every Stage of Childhood
The long-term vision is for every CLC country to have three editions of children’s Bibles available in its national language:
- Ages 2–4
- Ages 5–8
- Ages 8–11
Each edition combines vivid storytelling with engaging illustrations—helping children not just read the Bible, but begin to understand and love it as they grow.
Current Focus: A Storybook Bible for the Nations
A major focus of the current phase is the translation and printing of more than 23,000 copies of God’s Colorful Kingdom Storybook Bible, originally published by Tyndale House.
Designed for children aged 8–11, this beautifully illustrated Bible includes 31 stories that trace the arc of God’s redemptive plan—from creation, through Christ’s resurrection, and into the hope that follows.
This project includes:
- Translation into 14 languages
- Distribution across 19 countries
- A dedicated Ukrainian edition, overseen by CLC Poland
In Ukraine, where many families are facing deep uncertainty, these Bibles will offer something more than information—they will offer hope. By ensuring children can read Scripture in their heart language, we help create space for faith to take root.
A Vision Bigger Than the Numbers
These efforts form part of a wider goal:
To print at least 50,000 children’s Bibles—and, as the Lord provides, perhaps even 100,000.
Each Bible costs around $4.60 to print and ship. Yet its impact goes far beyond a single child.
In many homes, parents and grandparents read alongside their children, turning each Bible into a shared experience of faith and discovery. One small book often becomes a light that reaches an entire household.
Transforming Lives Through Simple Means
Through this project, we are reminded that God often works through the simplest of tools—paper, ink, and story—to open hearts and transform lives.
This is what it looks like to serve the global church.
This is what it means to place Scripture into the hands of the next generation.
And this is how, together, we continue spreading the Word and reaching the world.
